Chairman, Fred L. Banks, Jr.
Fred L. Banks, Jr. is a senior partner at the law firm of Phelps Dunbar LLP. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, and an honors graduate of Howard University School of Law, Banks was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives in 1975, and was twice re-elected. In February 1985, Banks was appointed Circuit Judge for the Seventh Circuit Court District of Mississippi. Banks has served his state and nation in many other capacities. He has been a member of the National Board of Directors of the NAACP since 1982. He was recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as its inaugural “Leader in the Law” in 2010. Banks has also served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Mississippi College School of Law.
