It’s a mammoth at 330,000 square feet. It’s Jackson’s version of a modern marvel: glass, steel, the ultimate in energy efficiency and productive space occupying more than a couple of city blocks in downtown Jackson. Why does that building matter to Jackson and Jackson’s food scene? And why does Jackson’s food scene matter to it?

This week, we caught up with the guy responsible for the day to day management of all aspects of the Jackson Convention Complex. With over 20 years of industry experience, Kelvin Moore, a native Texan, landed in Jackson three years ago direct from the Seattle market, where he had accomplished head turning results as the General Manager of the previously faltering Lynnwood Convention Center. Moore came to Jackson to be a game changer, and during his time here he’s also a passionate champion for the City of Jackson and our local hospitality industry.
