SMG and Mississippi Blood Services Team Up For Downtown Blood Drive

ms bloodJackson, MS, (February 12, 2014)  – SMG, the Worldwide Leader in Convention and Entertainment Management, and management firm for the Jackson Convention Complex, is proud to host the Downtown Blood Drive along with Mississippi Blood Services on Thursday, February 20. The Downtown Blood Drive will allow donors a chance to make a difference in the lives of their fellow citizens.

Kelvin D. Moore, SMG General Manager for the Jackson Convention Complex, said the Downtown Blood Drive helps put the community and its citizens first.

“When it comes to the blood supply, preparedness is everything, and every blood drive is an important part of being ready,” Moore said. “Supporting the Mississippi Blood Services in producing this event is our way assisting them in their efforts to remain ready, and is in alignment with the goals of our Heart of SMG program.”

Tony Bahou, Manager of Public Relations and Communications for Mississippi Blood Services, said the Downtown Blood Drive at the Complex will be a great chance for those who work and live near Downtown to make a difference.

“This will be an exciting event for Downtown Jackson,” Bahou said. “WRBJ will be there with a live remote, playing music throughout the Drive. It will be the perfect way to warm up winter by doing the right thing–donating blood.”
